Technology by nature involves equipment and processes. Students
will within the program learn to apply knowledge, skills, equipment,
materials and information. These goals will be developed in the
following ways:
- By finding technological solutions through
investigations, designing, producing, then evaluating.
- By understanding
the social, environmental and economic implications of technology.
- By developing awareness of material characteristics
and their application.
- By using a variety of equipment and resources
to build knowledge and skills.
- By understanding safe work practices.
- By
using skills and knowledge from other areas of the curriculum
in a practical manner.
- By exploring the past and potential
consequences of using technology.
- By understanding the vocational,
expressive and leisure activities which emerge from working with
materials and processes.
- By developing a sense of self-confidence
and self-sufficiency in dealing with technology.
The students will have the opportunity
to develop skills in Textiles, Food, Wood, Systems, Metal Plastics,
Robotics and Information Technology.
