| Science at Rosebud Secondary
College is a multi-disciplined subject that covers four major strands:
Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Earth and Space.
Chemistry explores the way in which materials in our world are
made and how they react with each other. Physics examines the science
behind heat, light, electricity, magnetism as well as other forms
of matter and energy. Biology is the study of living things and
how they survive and live on this planet. Earth and Space delves
into the way our planet is formed and the place of our world in
the universe. It also looks at the way in which our universe is
changing. In the senior VCE years the study of Psychology is added to the
full complement of Sciences offered at the College. Psychology
examines the study of the mind, how it works and why people behave
they way they do. All of the Sciences offered involve the
application of a theoretical framework that is complemented by
experimental work performed in the College’s state of the
art laboratories. Extensive computer programs are also available
in every strand in every year level in the Science area. Students
are able to perform scientific modelling and access the Internet
on the large computer pod that runs through the centre of the
Science wing.
